What my title doesn’t say about my work: My title is very focused on the word “AI” and that usually means technology. My actual work consists of using AI and thinking about the less risky ways of using it, but most of the time the main focus is on what we are trying to achieve and with what criteria rather than the how.
In reality, "Think beyond AI" means…: Like forget the AI, think beyond it. This too shall pass.
What kind of problems are you particularly good at solving?: Complex, tricky — the more difficult, the better
What sets you apart from other AI consultants?: In any other company I would have answered the obvious; my gender and background in statistics and startups, but at Renessai I’m not the only one ;) nowadays I guess it would be my interest in regulation and legislation, which is though just a way to push for fair and ethical AI.
An experience from my career that shook my thinking: When working as AI Lead at Someturva, I saw the disinterest and disincentives of big social media platforms to actually protect children or other vulnerable people. This applies too to big tech and has shaped my distrusting attitude to the max.
